Neo Player is a free CineForm decoder available for both Windows and Mac through the download links below. Please read the following comments about Neo Player before downloading:
- Neo Player never expires
- Neo Player will play Active Metadata that is attached to a CineForm clip as long as the Metadata was declared as ON. You cannot modify Metadata using Neo Player.
- Formats / Resolutions: Neo Player decodes CineForm files of all spatial resolutions and chroma formats

What is Installed: Neo Player installs the CineForm QuickTime decoder (Mac) or DirectShow and Video for Windows decoders (Windows). (Despite its name, Neo Player does not install a separate media player!)

Neo Player WILL play CineForm 3D files: On Win, select the 3D mode from the CineForm system tray icon. On Mac, launch First Light from the /Applications/CineForm folder and select the 3D mode using the CineForm icon in the upper status bar.

Windows-specific comments:
- Premiere Pro and After Effects Importers (Windows). Neo Player includes the CineForm importers for CS3 and CS4, so it is compatible with Premiere Pro and After Effects. Neo Player does NOT include the CineForm real-time editing engine so it is not a replacement for your primary editing machine.
- Accelerated Playback (Windows). Neo Player installs a utiliity to "accelerate" playback in case playback stutters in Windows Media Player or other applications. Using this utility, CineForm Intermediate files dynamically decode to a smaller resolution during playback based on the natural multi-resolution decoding characteristics of Wavelet compression:
TURN ON accelerated playback: START MENU --> All Programs --> CineForm --> Tools --> Desktop Playback-Fast
TURN OFF accelerated playback: START MENU --> All Programs --> CineForm --> Tools --> Desktop Playback-Quality
NOTE: Once the Fast mode is turned ON, it remains in effect until turned OFF by using the playback-Quality setting.
